There are some photos that you want to jump into…the way Mary Poppins jumped into Bert’s sidewalk chalk drawings. This is one of those scenes. Whether it is the wild grown grass, the budding trees or perhaps the old train cars desolate waiting to be explored…I’m not entirely sure. But I do want one of those cupcakes! There is an old timeless tone to the day. You can feel the breeze. You can settle in and know that this is the time to relax, to be in love and to just enjoy. I love how Ashley Maxwell dreamed this up. She asked me to create a bouquet for her photo-shoot. She told me the feel of the event and really left it up to me to play with. I wanted to give juxtaposition between soft, elegant, romantic but natural and rustic. I did this with the dried berries, succulents and wood flowers…creating the natural and rustic elements, then using the spray roses, feathers, and skeleton leaves to create the soft deconstructed romance. The plum calla lilies give a hint of color but don’t overwhelm the bouquet.
The style is lush and whimsical. This gives it structure & movement. I love the boutonniere that Ashley created to tie it all in. She is a true artist. You are fabulous Ashley!
