A fresh take on an organic wedding was the direction we wanted to take Emily and Brian’s Wedding. They came in with lots of ideas and were ecstatic to implement hand made table numbers written on drift wood and painted stones for place cards. It is always fun to create a dramatic style that creates its own atmosphere. With a gorgeous venue, Nestldown is one of the most beautiful venues in the Bay Area. Nicolas Cagewas married there a few years ago. Huge redwood trees encircle a pond with a wisteria structure to be married in front of. We wove fabric and flowers into the structure to soften it and high light the center.Emily and Brian released butterflies as part of their ceremony. Hundreds of monarch butterflies flew throughout the woods. It was a gorgeous touch.The reception was romantic and cozy in the “barn”, which is the venue’s wooden high ceiling modern building. It has an over sized fireplace that warms it up. This was perfect as it was a chilly day. Tom from Thomas John Events, created a romantic candlelight toned room. He provides some lighting for his clients and this was the perfect touch to warm the room.Our centerpieces had the guests chatting. We created three styles. I love to have a few variations of design as the guests can enjoy the collection that work together as opposed to just one style. A rustic stump overflowing with flowers was the first style. A Manzanita branch with fresh moss and blooms was the second style. And a low moss garden with a fig vine and fresh moss was the third. We played with thistles, china mums, stones, amaranthus, and moss as well as reusable branches to create a dramatic look that didn’t break the budget. Emily was very open to creativity. This attitude empowers her designers and team. We are able to create more as we understand how to create impact. Sometimes it’s the freedom that creates beauty.
